Tried to fiddle me out of 31.99Euro. When I purchased 4 litres of spirits to bring home to the UK, I was charged 57Euro and asked if I required a receipt. When I said 'yes' the cashier said there had been a mistake and proceeded to take a bottle of Jack Daniels worth 31.99Euro off the total bill; I believe it was already keyed in before she started my transaction. There were no bottles of JD nearby so this could not have been an accidental scan. I wouldn't normally query but as the total was so much larger than expected, I requested a receipt; it was only then that she realised her 'mistake'. If I had paid the 57Euro and left the shop without the receipt I would not have had a leg to stand on if I'd query it later.This was a lesson well learned; always get a receipt, however small the transaction! I didn't even get an apology; charming!
